anwers to that music meme I did this on my iPod, using the shuffle setting. Some of these bands I haven't listened to in a while. I'm not able to post a link to a video, because I can't watch youtube videos with my limited bandwidth (and I don't want to link to them if I can't watch them). So I will just tell you the name of the band. (hell, I can't remember which song came up when I did this last week) :) Thank you all for making guesses. I also want to use this chance to brag that I've received all the points possible in my class so far this summer. The presentations that I have to do are nerve wracking, but I think it's been good for me. music meme Holy Moly! This took me forever. My internet is somewhere between dial-up and high speed. But I wanted to do it, and with some help from my husband, here goes: Taken from ladysnaps1. Open a music player. 2. Go to 'all music'/'library'. 3. Hit shuffle/repeat/random. 4. Find photos of the first 25 artists/bands that come up (no repeats and no cheating). 5. Have people guess who the artists/bands are.( my randomosity ) Current Music: The Flaming Lips- Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell | | Monday, November 12th, 2007 | | 8:54 pm |
Something good I've decided I'm going to try to post something good about my day each day until I pull out of this slump.
Just whatever was nice about the day, or some little moment that made me happy.
You all don't have to comment, since hopefully it'll just be a little thing. But if I do this, it will remind me of all the good things in my life.
Edit: And I forgot to add my good thing for today. Duh!
The weather was beautiful today. I had a little extra time after lunch, so I went for a walk around the school. It was about 78 degrees and breezy. Leaves blowing everywhere. My favorite time of year. :)

When I grow up? I guess most of you who did this got a pretty accurate result. I think I was the only one who got something so far from what I consider myself to be. | You Should Be an Artist | You are incredibly creative, spontaneous, and unique. No one can guess what you're going to do next, but it's usually something amazing. You can't deal with routine, rules, or structure. You're easily bored. As long as you are able to innovate and break the rules, you are extremely successful.
You do best when you:
- Can work by yourself - Can express your personality in your work
You would also be a good journalist or actor. |
I don't really think I'm creative at all. I wish I was. I went back and chose my second favorite picture, and it was a Politician! That's definitely not me! I looked at all the other ones after I'd made my initial choices and I just didn't really like the figure for Teacher, even though I'm a teacher. The funny thing is- I had my husband pick his favorite, and he chose the picture for Doctor. My husband is a Doctor. It's what he's always wanted to be. :) Current Music: Blizten Trapper- Crazy On You | | Saturday, August 25th, 2007 | | 9:30 am |

I'm back from vacation. Spent the last few days cleaning up, unpacking, and getting ready for my yard sale coming up this weekend (still have a lot to do to get ready for the yard sale).
We had a great time at the beach, and had a wonderful visit with some old friends in Asheville. I'll post pictures sometime soon.
I've got some catching up to do on LJ. It seems like there's been some folks suffering losses, and another upheaval from the owners of LJ. *hopes everyone doesn't move to Greatest Journal*
I start back to work next Monday. Eek! Where did the summer go? | | Tuesday, July 10th, 2007 | | 12:54 pm |

some real good chili I made a big pot of chili tonight. It was very delicious. If you like to cook, or have kids who are interested in cooking at all, you might want to look at this cookbook. It's called There's a Chef In My Soup! Recipes for the kid in everyone by Emeril Lagasse. I really don't care for Emeril's cooking show. He can be annoying. And most of his recipes call for stuff that I can't find around here. But this book is great. It's supposed to be for kids, but I've used many of the recipes over and over. My son was interested in cooking when we bought it a few years ago, and he made some of the recipes (some of them are very easy). It's got a very good basic red sauce recipe, and we love the BBQ chicken wraps. The chili recipe is delicious. ( mmmm.... chili ) | | Monday, March 26th, 2007 | | 5:08 pm |
Paul found a youtube video of the Polyphonic Spree at SXSW, if anyone is interested. It's better than the video we took. Polyphonic Spree videoThis is the show we saw. There are a few other videos on there from different shows in Austin. | | Sunday, March 25th, 2007 | | 9:17 pm |
Saturday night at SXSW By Saturday night, you're pretty wiped out. Your feet hurt, your legs hurt, you don't even want to see another alcoholic beverage, but you drink one anyway. ( Read more... ) Current Music: The Polyphonic Spree- Two Thousand Places at Once | | 2:16 pm |
Friday night and Saturday day parties Friday night presented a difficult decision for me. Should I go to the Yep Roc showcase? Or see some other bands that I wanted to see? Since I wanted to see more of the Apples, and a band called Sloan, we headed over to the Yep Roc show. ( Read more... ) | | Saturday, March 24th, 2007 | | 8:42 pm |
Friday at SXSW I should mention that the weather was beautiful this year while we were in Austin. When we arrived on Wed. it was raining, but it cleared up for the night shows. It was sunny and warm, but cool at night, for the rest of the week. Friday was a fun day. We arrived at the Yep Roc party while Cities was setting up. They are pretty good, but we didn't go down to the tent and watch them. We were looking around from our vantage point on the balcony. Then Heloise started setting up. Thursday at SXSW One thing to remember about SXSW is that the day parties are very different from the nightime showcases. The day parties are set up by record labels, radio stations, magazines, blogs, strange people who get together and have enough money to set up a day party. They can be unpredictable. Night showcases are set up officially by SXSW (there are a few official SXSW day parties). They usually run smoothly and on time. ( Read more... ) | | Thursday, March 22nd, 2007 | | 9:43 pm |
A few SXSW photos I have so many photos to go through. So I'm going to post them chronologically. I need to write this down for myself as well as for you all to read. I've found that it's fun to go through my LJ from last year's SXSW to see what I posted. ( Read more... ) | | Thursday, March 1st, 2007 | | 9:06 pm |
Yay! We get spring break! This takes such a load off of me. I was worried about asking my boss for time off after missing work this week. Now we have the whole week of SXSW off. I can spend time on Monday getting ready, and we can leave Tuesday whenever we want (my husband took the whole week off).
My son is feeling better too.
I'm so glad March is here. I've always loved March. My husband's and my own birthday are in March. Spring arrives in March, and January and February are over.
Happy, happy, joy, joy. :) | | Tuesday, February 27th, 2007 | | 1:00 pm |
I'm home with a sick kid today. My oldest son has the flu. I took him to the doctor's office this morning, and the nurse said, "Yep, he has the flu". Why did I take him to the doctor's office, when I already knew this? Actually, they did test him for strep, which was negative. He's been sick since Friday, but hopefully he'll be better tomorrow, and I can get back to work. ( Read more... ) | | Friday, February 9th, 2007 | | 11:50 am |
It's been a busy week. The return of Lost on TV has screwed up the schedule that my husband and I had for taking my son to Tae Kwon Do classes. This week was kind of crazy. I'm going to ramble like my friend Ladysnaps. ( Read more... ) Current Music: The Apples in Stereo- 7 Stars | | Wednesday, January 31st, 2007 | | 7:57 pm |
